Universal Pre-K
Universal PreK at oWP
Thanks to a grant from the Department of Education, One World Project offers tuition-free Universal Pre-K for our 4’s classes. Application and enrollment for UPK are completed through the DOE, and children already enrolled at OWP the year before their UPK year receive priority placement and are guaranteed a spot.
Why Our UPK Is special
While UPK is tuition-free, DOE funding alone does not support many of the elements that make our program unique. Each year, our community raises approximately $150,000 to enrich our UPK program beyond the standard model and provide experiences that nurture the whole child.
A Whole-Child Learning Experience
Our Spanish-immersion UPK supports children’s academic, social, and emotional growth through exceptional teaching, thoughtful curriculum planning, and meaningful enrichment. These community-funded elements include weekly music classes, regular visits to our school garden, access to our extensive library, organic meals, and beautiful indoor and outdoor learning spaces—experiences that foster creativity, independence, and joy in learning.
Our Teachers Make the Difference
OWP teachers are experienced professionals who are paid based on credentials and years of experience, comparable to public school salaries. All teachers in our UPK classrooms are part of the OWP team—no substitute agencies and no screens—ensuring consistency, connection, and a nurturing environment for every child.
A Community That Grows Together
UPK at One World Project is about more than education—it’s about belonging. Through family workshops, community events, and meaningful connections, we support children and caregivers alike and build a warm, inclusive community where families grow together.
